DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Co (GM.)(N) President and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Akerson received 2.53 million in total compensation in 2010.
Akerson took over as CEO last September and President of the GM Board earlier this year.
Compensation of executives of GM is limited by guidelines established by the Government of the United States following GM accepting a 50 billion financing package included bankruptcy and saved the company in 2009.
The 62 years Akerson resumed to Ed Whitacre, who resigned suddenly at the height of IPO the company. Akerson served as CEO for four months in 2010.
The Akerson remuneration will be the same in 2011 as if it had been full a year as CEO in 2010. A spokesman for GM said its 2011 earnings will be about $ 9 million, or the result of 1.7 million dollars in wages and prices of approximately 7.3 million in stock.
2010 Compensation of Ford Motor Co (f.n.) CEO Alan Mulally was approximately $ 26.5 million, an increase of 48% in the previous year.
Akerson is a graduate of the Naval Academy, and former American Carlyle Group (CYL.)(Director General UL). He became fourth CEO the automaker in the 18 months when he took for Whitacre.
