US stocks open higher after bin Laden killed (AFP)

NEW YORK (AFP) - US stock markets opened strongly more Monday after secret Navy SEALs killed Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in a mission in Pakistan.

S & P Howard Silverblatt Indices analyst, said that markets would probably short.

"Overall, the impact on the U.S., oil markets and the dollar should be positive in the short term, with the world and the U.S. reaction to any event forward or lack of events, more sustainable," he said in a report.

"Also wrong that rejoice at the death of any person, the end of this chapter will provide a sense of relief for the markets, potentially reducing the costs of risk inherent in the oil and give the market - and we all - some closure," he said.

In the news of mergers and acquisitions, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries of Israel, largest maker of generic drugs more than announced the repurchase of company biopharma Cephalon, in an agreement of $ 6.8 billion weeks after Cephalon rejected a hostile bid of Valeant Canadian firm $ 5.7 billion.
