FTSE 100 shares end lower (AFP)

London (AFP) - shares in London more closed low Wednesday as investors reacted to the announcements of the company and the regional economic data.

The benchmark FTSE 100 Index dropped 1.62% to 5,984.07 points.

Lloyds Banking Group was the stock traded, see 167 million shares changed hands, followed by Vodafone with $ 110 million.

The largest blue chip riser was then jumped 97 pence--4,37% - 2319, followed by Marks and Spencer, which climbed 14.50 pence--3,77% - 398.9.

The biggest faller of the day was Antofagasta, which has dropped from 120 pence--9.01% - 1212, followed by ARM Holdings, which fell by 44 pence--7,31% - 558.

At 17: 02 BST sterling was commercial 1.6521 dollars, while the UK currency amounted to 1.1120 euros.
